RULES AND HOW TO PLAY

GAME PLAY

Prepare a Bible to have at hand. Shuffle the cards well and divide them into  the two piles. Place the two piles on the board separately. Place the player pieces at the starting position.

Goal of the Game

To collect as many Good Samaritan cards as possible before any of the players reaches Nazareth. The goal of the game is similar to the goal of life - to obtain good deeds (Good Samaritan cards) and to avoid being deceived (Subtle Deceiver cards).

“Depart of evil and do good” Psalm 34:14

In the Book of Leviticus 19:18 we read: “Th¬ou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

This is one of the core values in Judaism.

Strategy in the Game

Keep your cards private and don’t let other players see what cards you have.

Other players should not know how many Good Samaritan cards or Subtle  Deceiver cards you have.

Go to Nazareth only after you have enough Good Samaritan cards and  have gotten rid of as many Subtle Deceiver cards as possible.

There is no benefit to being the first one to arrive at Nazareth.

The moment one player reaches Nazareth, the game ends.

The players count up “Good Samaritan” cards and the player with the most Good Samaritan cards wins.

If you have too few Good Samaritan cards, then go back down the “Jordan River Path” to be rebirth. If you have many Good Samaritan cards, take the shortcut on the “Desert Path” or use an END THE GAME card

if you have one.

Players make progress by rolling the die on their turn. In the game, the players will have to complete tasks that appear on the board itself or that are received through Task cards. Players attempt to accumulate as many Good Samaritan cards as possible.

GAME BOARD

The game board has three paths:

 1. The “Way of the Patriarchs” is the main path on the board. At the end of this path players can, though don’t have to, visit the town of Megiddo.

2. The “Desert Path” is for players who think they have enough Good Samaritan cards and want to get to Nazareth faster.

3. Players who find they do not have enough Good Samaritan cards can travel back down the “Jordan River Path,” which will take them back to the beginning and give them a chance to gather more Good Samaritan cards.
